Want to know if the field is fit for you, informational interview is the option.

The world has a lot many things both scattered and collected. It’s upto the one whether he collects the things and makes a rope or just let the things stay there and let them grow alone. To make a world a place according to our desire, we have to pick things and put them together i-e, we have to take help from things. Same is the case with men, man is a social animal, he too needs to support each other to work for a common endeavor and it would happen by seeking and by giving help to the other.

Today, I conducted an informational interview with Sheikh Talha Ilyas, CEO of Taghayyur(a soft skill development institute). Let me tell, I contacted him a couple of days ago and asked to have some precious minutes of his lifetime. He soon accepted the requested and responded positively. I scheduled the meeting for two days later i-e, today. I, with my team, have a great conversation with him on Zoom.

We asked him a bunch of questions about Trainer’s Field in a very cool discussion. He was ready to answer each question with confidence. Let me share some of the learnings I had out of that meeting viz,

  • Goal setting is really important to take a start and make a mark, both short term and long term, that is to say, in this case, I want to become the best trainer in the world , for instance.
  • After setting goals, we need to follow them with full dedication and consistency, without them, we’d not be getting what we want.
  • To be a trainer, one needs to have strong observation.
  • To be a trainer, one must have the inner drive to help people
  • To be a trainer, one must have diverse and immense knowledge.
  • A trainer must be emotionally intelligent, that is how to deal with people effectively.
  • To be a trainer, one must have the inner urge to change the mindset of the society.
  • Without the above mentioned skills/traits, you are not going to catch the train.

What other points he highlighted were insightful too, like There are many people who are book worms but no experience but people with both bookish knowledge as quell as having immense experience are the ones who are good fit for the training field alongside all the above mentioned traits of a trainer.

Another point he said, I usually don’t follow much, but I get inspired by role models like, Tony Robbins, Sandeep Maheshwari, Qasim Ali Shah, etc. he said, a CEO must be a leader, that is a visionary leader, if he is not, he’s not going to take the company far…

The whole conversation went fruitful as we got such rich teachings, got the answers to many of queries and thus have the air of Training field as to how a trainer’s life looks and what kind of person could be a good fit for this job. One has to even sacrifice his social life for his greater purpose or case. This meeting helped us make connections too and helped us realize that people out there may be ready to help you and give you time if you try to seek… oftentimes, we don’t even bother to even think of it. We’ll try to incorporate his pieces of advice to accelerate our career growth

An informational interview with the person of the company/field of your interest could really prove beneficial to us both in terms of building a connection with the people as wells getting insightful pieces of advice. So, why to shy away, why not to reach out to someone and seek professional advice live? So, my first paragraph is summarised here as, we should seek professional help whenever we need it, there is nothing to hesitate, just be professional and kind while doing this. SO, Just go ahead…best of luck!!!
